According to the information card –
“On the south end of the large portico with swimming pool was a curving wall (nymphaeum) subdivided into eight exhedrae plastered with polychrome stuccoes, architectural motives and animated views, acting as a sort of stage-front for the swimming pool.
The central niches contained mosaics representing The Rape of Europe and Frixus with Elle.
Immediately behind the nymphaeum runs a tunnel (numbered 62-63), only partly excavated, with the same curvature as the nymphaeum.”

Area 64, niche 7, originally this would have contained a stucco relief of an athlete, which is now in Naples Archaeological Museum.
Below it are the remains of a painting of Diana and Acteon.

According to Parslow, this stucco relief of a gymnast with a hoop was removed in August 1752 and taken to the museum at Portici.

Underneath this was a painting of Diana and Acteon.

Diana is the central figure, Acteon can just about be glimpsed to the right of the white mark at the top of the remaining plaster, on the right side of the photo.
