VI.11.10 Pompeii. December 2007. Room 39, oecus/triclinium in north-west corner of peristyle 36. On the left is the west wall of anteroom. On the right is a doorway to room 40. The flooring of the anteroom was of cocciopesto containing white crosses with a black centre. A mosaic border of white tesserae separated the flooring of the anteroom from the oecus/triclinium. A meander pattern and a central emblema were present in the floor of the room.

On the left is the west wall of anteroom. On the right is a doorway to room 40.

The flooring of the anteroom was of cocciopesto containing white crosses with a black centre.

A mosaic border of white tesserae separated the flooring of the anteroom from the oecus/triclinium.

A meander pattern and a central emblema were present in the floor of the room.

In her book, Blake wrote - “An excellent example of this is found in VI.XI.10 (Casa del Labirinto, Pl.4, Fig.1), in one of the rooms at the back of the garden.” See Blake, M., (1930). In her book, Blake wrote -

“An excellent example of this is found in VI.XI.10 (Casa del Labirinto, Pl.4, Fig.1), in one of the rooms at the back of the garden.”
