According to
Napolitano –
“The graffiti was
found on 21 September 1965; detached from the wall for conservation purposes, and
was exhibited in the rooms of the Stabian Antiquarium, where it is still
preserved. The graffiti is on four lines (maximum length of the lines 8 cm;
maximum height 3 cm). The characters are clear, with constant groove depth,
engraved with a thin tip. The apograph (fig. 8) was taken in 2014.

In the west wall, on
the right, traces can be seen from where the graffito found on 22nd September
1965 was cut from.
According to Napolitano, in D'ORSI's excavation diary, Gli scavi di
Stabiae, p. 364, we read
–
“on 21 September 1965,
Tuesday, during excavation works in the kitchen and bath area, on the western
wall of a probable atrium, 0.70 m from the crest of the wall, 1.82 m more to
the south of the left pillar of the entrance to the kitchen, 1.10 m wide, and
0.50 m further north of the first column of the western side of the impluvium
with a high masonry pluteus, a graffito was brought to light, in Greek,
consisting of a total of four lines 0.21 m long”.
