Malandrino
describes - “the southern portico with columns painted on the inside and fluted
in stucco on the outside.
The spaces between
the columns were partially closed by masonry panels to protect both the
porticoes themselves as well as the rooms that face onto them, from the summer
heat and from the rain and the southerly winds.”
