According to De Caro, this statue was found in room 35 which was a storeroom in the servants’ area, in which other fragments of sculpture and a large amount of household equipment of the villa were found.

of Poppea, September 2015. Room 36, steps to lower floor.
According to Malandrino -
“After the excavation of the staircase ramp and part of a sloping corridor, exploration was interrupted because of the Sarno Canal above.
There are three possible reasons for these stairs: the first was that it was leading to a basement:
the second that it gave access to a cryptoporticus which extended along the southern side,
and the third that it formed an entrance, on a lower level, from the coastal roadway passing on the southern side.”

Villa of Poppea, January 2023. On display in room 38.
Head of Aphrodite, 1st century AD.
Found in the north garden on 12th June 1974.
The head lay on the ancient soil layer about 7m north of the last, northernmost column of Portico 34.
According to the villa information board,
the head depicts the features of the goddess in a replica of the Capitoline
Venus type, inspired by the works of Praxiteles from the 4th century BC.
The elaborate hairstyle, held in place by a
band, ends in a voluminous knot on the top of the head.
Inventory number 71321.
